Upper East Side
One of the most Iconic Uptown's in the World. The Upper East Side of New York City has been historically synonymous with wealth, conservatism, and “class.” With Park, Madison, and Fifth Ave bearing the standard for status, Lexington thru Second Ave championing accessibility, and 2nd to the East River offering a diversity of housing stock, the Upper East Side is surprisingly diverse in it's entirety.

Long established coops, prewar condos, and landmarked townhouses attract those who prefer classic luxury to new money modernity. With Central Park, Museum Mile, and countless private schools, there is an air of historical significance specific to the blocks north of 59th, West of Lexington, and East of the Park.

From Lexington to Second there are more rental buildings, and prices are generally discounted in comparison to their downtown counterparts. Most tree lined streets have basic walk up and elevator apartments, with postwar doorman elevator buildings closer to Second Ave, and newer developments on the corners. Here you can find everything from a $1500 studio to a $15000 3 bedroom, exposed brick and stainless steel, Jackson Hole and Dorrian's.

From Second to the East River, you have an interesting combination of single family brownstones, rental properties over retail, and full service buildings. The most coveted apartments on East End have river views and outdoor space. First and York are home to an increasing number of young professionals and recent college grads, who craved the energy of downtown, but opted for more space at a lower price, to allow more money for downtown discretionary spending.

New development, entry level, and luxury housing stock exist above 86th street, pushing past the playdate mecca that is the 92nd street Y, and on up to 96th street. Between 96th and 110th street, there are certain blocks that will feel more like East Harlem, making for interesting bar conversation, and philosophical discussions debating the relevant influence of a block or a specific building on neighborhood identity.
